The NSW Government has finally released its long awaited NSW State Migration Plan (SMP).
The plan lists 138 occupations, most of which are available for provisioal regional sponsorship visa purposes, rather than the permanent 176 skilled sponsored visas. The occupations that are listed on the SMP but not on DIAC’s Schedule 3 Skilled Occupation List are:
For Skilled Regional Sponsored Subclasses 475 and 487:
• Fitter (General)
• Metal Machinist (1st Class)
• Cabinet Maker
And for Skilled Sponsored Subclasses 176 and 186:
• Insurance Broker
Further, these occupations are temporarily closed as allocated numbers for this migration program year (to 30 June 2011) have already been reached:
• Financial Investment Adviser
• Life Scientist
• Production Manager (Manufacturing)
• Vocational Education Teacher
• Corporate General Manager
• Medical Administrator
• Pharmacist (Hospital)
• Pharmacist (Retail)
Existing applications currently with DIAC and which have nominated occupations which are on the NSW State Migration Plan will receive Priority Group 2 processing.
